UPSHUR CO (KYTX) - The Sixth Court of Appeals has affirmed the life sentence for Sharon Anne Maxwell who was convicted of killing her husband, Gordon Lynn Maxwell.

45-year-old Maxwell of Ore City, and former Upshur County jailer, received the life sentence in August 2012 for the 2011 shooting death of her tenth husband.

An autopsy showed Gordon was shot multiple times and his body was later found in a burned car at the couple's home.

Maxwell's attorney filed a motion with the appeals court in attempt to overturn her life sentence citing evidence presented during the trial did not support the conviction.
