ETBU's President Accomplishes Much in a Short Time

Posted: Updated:

A 40,000 square foot student center, a new cafeteria, and this 320 bed dorm have all been added to the East Texas Baptist University campus since President Dub Oliver has taken over.
"When he first came to the campus, he wanted to walk from one end of the campus to the other and walk into everyone's office to shake hands. I knew we had someone special" - Mike Midkiff
Public Relations Coordinator Mike Midkiff says that Oliver has furthered the integration of faith and learning. He has added 4 new graduate courses, and is a regular chapel speaker. .
"Midkiff says Dub Oliver will not be easy to replace." - Kevin Boyce
"The bar has been set high. We will probably look for the same qualities that Dub has. But (WE) will move this University to a higher place."
Oliver's last day will be in May, but the search for the new leader begins this week.  It took the ETBU Board of Trustees 6 months to choose Oliver, and they're hoping for a similar time line.
"We believe God calls students here, part of that role as President is to make sure Faith and learning are integrated.
