Pipe Bomb device discovered during drug search at ETX Home

From the Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office:

VAN ZANDT CO (KYTX) - On Thursday February 13, Van Zandt County Precinct 1 Constable Mickey Henson was assisting the Van Zandt County Fire Marshall's Office investigating an illegal landfill and observed a suspicious vehicle on Van Zandt County Road 1701.

Constable Henson and Deputy Danny Wilson with the Van Zandt County Fire Marshall's Office stopped to investigate the suspicious vehicle.

After requesting and receiving consent from two men to search the vehicle, the officers discovered a large quantity of crystal like substance secreted in the trunk are of the vehicle believed by the officers to be methamphetamine.

The two men later identified as 24-year-old William "Willie" Neal Adams, Jr. of Grand Saline, and 44-year-old Timothy Steven Bolt of Mineola were placed under arrest.

One of the suspects cooperated with the officers and directed the deputies to a rural residence located at 2715 Van Zandt County Rd. 1701, located Southeast of Grand Saline.

During a Search of the house, officers discovered additional contraband including a device believed to be a pipe bomb.

The house was immediately evacuated, and the area secured.
