Web Exclusive: Oprah launches campaign to combat loneliness

Posted: Updated:

(CNN) -  Oprah Winfrey is encouraging people to say "hello" to each other.  Her new "Just Say Hello" initiative is designed to combat loneliness, lift spirits, brighten days and improve lives. Winfrey says she understands what people are looking for.

"Every human being is looking for one thing, and that is to be validated, to be seen and to be heard. And what I learned on the Oprah show is that all the interviews that I did, although thousands of them and multiple subjects, at the end of almost every interview in one form or another somebody would always lean in and say, was that okay? Was that okay? And I started to see that pattern. And what I realized is that everybody is looking for the same thing. No matter if it's politicians, senators, presidents, Beyonce in all of her Beyonce'ness, we're all looking to know did you see me, did you hear me, and did what I say mean anything to you." says Winfrey.

When asked if she has had periods of genuine loneliness, Winfrey responded "absolutely not."
she said, "I am really happy being with myself," says Winfrey,

Britney Spears had a lip-syncing snafu at a concert in Vegas.  Of course, a fan captured it with his cell phone and posted it on Instagram.  You could see Britney in the video appearing to miss her cue and not even having the mic up to her mouth, but you could still hear her.  Spears recently began a 2 year stint at Planet Hollywood.

Justin Timberlake has called off a sold out show Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden.   The singer made the announcement on Twitter saying he had to postpone due to health reasons.  His concert on Thursday night at the same venue is expected to go on as scheduled.
