GM accused of deadly recall delay

Posted: Updated:

(CNN) - General Motors is accused of dragging its feet for a decade on recalls involving compact cars.

An ignition switch defect resulted in at least six deaths, GM admits. Now, a Georgia attorney says GM knew about the problem in 2004, but didn't order a recall until mid-February.

778,000 Chevy Cobalt and pPontiac G5 cars were recalled. The lawyer represents the family of a woman killed in 2010 while driving one of the recalled vehicles.

GM says it can't comment on the ongoing lawsuit.
