ETX Doctor disciplined by Texas Medical Board for improper relationship with patient

AUSTIN (KYTX) - The Texas Medical board has taken disciplinary action against a Marshall Physician after he admitted to having a sexual relationship with a female patient.

The Board found Dr. William Gibson Simpson M.D. violated professional boundaries with a female patient.

On February 7, 2014, the Board and William Gibson Simpson, M.D., entered into an Agreed Order requiring Dr. Simpson to within one year complete the professional boundaries course offered by the University of California San Diego Physician Assessment and Clinical Education program; within one year and three attempts pass the Medical Jurisprudence Exam; and pay an administrative penalty of $3,000 within 60 days.

Dr. Simpson was one of 42 physicians disciplined by the Texas Medical Board at the February meeting.
