Nacogdoches Police make arrest in injury to a child case

NACOGDOCHES (KYTX) - Police responded to a call Monday where a 7-year-old female was bleeding from her nose.

Further investigation revealed that the child had been struck in the nose by her mother.

The child did not require medical treatment, and was released to CPS ( Child Protective Services)

The mother of the child, 30-year-old Stacey Michelle Smith was arrested and charged with Injury to a child and resisting arrest.

Police say Smith resisted arrest when officers arrived at the residence located in the 800 block of Mockingbird Lane in Nacogdoches.
