Nacogdoches K-9 leads officers to 100 pounds of marijuana during traffic stop

(NACOGDOCHES, Tx. ) Nacogdoches Police have arrested a Tennessee man and seized over 100 pounds of marijuana following a traffic stop this morning on Northwest Loop 224.

NPD K-9 officers stopped a 2014 Mazda SUV that was northbound on northwest Loop 224 in the 2000 block for a traffic violation. After a k-9 alert on the vehicle, officers located over 100 pounds of marijuana in the cargo area of the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle, Joseph Charles Hooper, 49, of Paris Tennessee was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana. He was taken to the Nacogdoches County Jail.

Hooper was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
