Smith County man receives 70 year prison sentence for meth

TYLER (KYTX) - A jury in the 114th Judicial District Court in Tyler returned a verdict Wednesday afternoon of Guilty in the case of The State of Texas v. Joseph Pierce. 

Pierce was tried for the offense of Manufacturing and Delivery of a Controlled Substance after he was found in possession of over 1lb of methamphetamine by DPS Trooper Frazier. 

Punishment evidence was heard before the jury returned a verdict of 70 years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division and a $250,000.00 fine. 

The case was prosecuted by Jacob Putman and Chris Gatewood.
