Two East Texans jailed after knife fight at Longview apartment

LONGVIEW (KYTX) - Two men went from an apartment complex to local hospitals to the Gregg County Jail last night and today after a fight involving kitchen knives, police say.

Chase Caldwell Ramirez, 21, of Lindale, and 22-year-old Cody Eaves, of Longview, are in the Gregg County Jail charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to police reports, officers responding to a reported stabbing in the 1700 block of Lakeshore Drive at 11:30 Tuesday night, where Ramirez and Eaves were detained. During an altercation, Eaves stabbed Ramirez in the hand with a kitchen knife, and Ramirez stabbed Eaves in the chest with a kitchen knife. A motive for the stabbings has not been released.

Ramirez is being held on $10,000 bond. No bond has been set for Eaves, who also had two misdemeanor warrants.
