Tyler man killed in construction accident

(KLBK) TERRY COUNTY, TX -- According to the Terry County Sheriff, they responded to an industrial accident call at one Thursday afternoon.

They said a crew demolishing structures at Venture Chemicals were preparing a silo tank for demolition when the silo prematurely fell on top of an excavator and its operator.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the operator, 43-year old James Croft, of Tyler, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sheriff Larry Gilbreath said there were other workers on scene, but there were no other injuries.  He also said Seagraves Fire and EMS, the Terry County Sheriff's Office, Wellman Fire Rescue, and Brownfield Fire and EMS all responded Thursday.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Croft was an employee of K&L Oil Field Demolition of Tyler.
