LINDALE (KYTX)- Monday, March 10, 2014: The City of Lindale is accepting registration forms and issuing producer licenses for the City of Lindale Farmers Market. The City of Lindale Farmers Market will open Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Blackberry Square, 120 E. North Street, Lindale, Texas. The market will be open Tuesdays and Saturdays, 11:00a.m. to 1:00p.m.

The City of Lindale is currently planning a grand opening celebration for the farmers market, to take place in May, 2014. The Lindale Farmers Market is a member of Texas Department of Agriculture's GO TEXAN Marketing program, allowing for state-wide promotion and advertising.
Local producers must complete the required registration form, and purchase the $25.00 monthly license at City Hall prior to participating.

Currently, registered producers will sell fresh farm eggs, grass-fed meats of all kinds, wool crafted items, homemade soaps, and fresh baked and canned goods. As the growing season progresses, fresh fruits and vegetables will be sold at the market.
Products to be included in the Farmers Market must be grown or produced within a 75 mile radius of Lindale city limits. Reselling of purchased or previously owned items is not allowed.

Livestock and other living animals will not be allowed to be sold at the Lindale Farmers Market. Vendors that want to sell foods that require baking, canning, processing (breads, cakes, pickles, sauces, salsa, jellies, preserves, vinegars, honey, etc.) must present the appropriate food handling permits and licenses as set forth by the State of Texas Health Department. It is the vendor's responsibility to abide by any state health requirements, and USDA labeling requirements.

Registration forms can be downloaded from the City of Lindale website (www.LindaleTX.gov), or completed at City Hall, located at 105 Ballard Dr., Lindale, Texas. Completed forms must be returned in person at the time of purchasing the monthly license at City Hall. Producers can purchase a license to cover any number of months they desire to participate.

Producers can now purchase monthly license, prepare for April 1 opening

For additional information, producers can contact Project Progress, Farmers Market Management, at 903-780-7969 or email info@LindaleTX.gov.
