UPDATE: HARRISON COUNTY (KYTX) - A person of interest has been identified by investigators in connection with the disappearance of a Harrison County Teen.

Harrison County public information officer Jay Webb tells CBS 19 that 25-year-old Rodris Webster was arrested earlier this year on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge, and was being held in the Harrison County Jail.

Webb said Alicia Benefield originally filed charges on Webster , but later dropped those charges. Webster was released from jail on March 5, 2014.

Meanwhile the Harrison County Sheriff's Office is attempting to locate Benefield who was reported missing on Friday, March 14, at approximately 4:30 AM. Ms. Benefield was last seen leaving an address on Old Town Rd. in Elysian Fields, Texas after an argument with an occupant at that residence.

Ms. Benefield was reported missing in Panola County and Harrison County after her vehicle, a blue Dodge Stratus, was left at a location on a county road, in DeBerry, Texas.

Harrison County Sheriffs deputies along with a Shreveport K-9 unit are currently searching an area off of I-20 in Waskom, Texas. She did not report to work on Friday evening in Carthage, as scheduled. Eleven investigators and the Harrison County District Attorney's investigator have spent over 100 man hours attempting to locate Ms. Benefield.

The Harrison County Sheriff's Office is gathering trained search teams to continue to search for any evidence regarding the missing person, Alicia Benefield.

Various well-meaning people have contacted the Sheriff's Office asking for locations to search. The presence of volunteers presents difficulties in the collection of evidence, IF there is evidence to recover.

We ask that only trained searchers that be in areas where the Sheriff's Office is working. The search will commence as soon as all teams have been briefed and assignments have been designated.

Harrison County Investigators are currently speaking with a person of interest about the incident.
