BOWIE CO. (KYTX) - A store clerk is recovering after she was shot during a robbery in Bowie County Monday night.

The Bowie County Sheriff's Office reports on 03-17-14 at 10:29 pm, Deputies were dispatched to a shooting at the Triple J located in the 4600 block of South Lake Drive.

When they arrived, they met with the store's attendant Juliann Nouri. Nouri said as she was closing the store a young black male wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and dark colored pants came in the store asking to buy a cigar.

She went behind the counter and asked for his identification. When Nouri looked up, she saw the male was holding a firearm in his hand.

The suspect told Nouri to "open the drawer." As she began to comply with the suspect's demand, the suspect shot her. The bullet passed through the left side of Nouri's waist.

The suspect fled the store on foot and has not been identified or located. Nouri was taken to Christus St. Michael's Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Anyone with information about this crime should contact Investigator Will Buttram at 903.628.6815 or Crime Stoppers at 903.793.STOP.
