UPDATE: Tyler Motorcycle Officer Injured in Crash

UPDATE: TYLER (KYTX)- Wednesday, March 19, 2014, Officer Jason Seeton remains in East Texas Medical Center with a broken foot, rib and back injury. 

We would like to thank the community for their concerns and prayers for his welfare.

Accident investigators did conclude that Mr. Blevins was at fault in the accident and was issued a citation for Fail to Control Speed.

Accident investigators did conclude that Mr. Blevins was at fault in the accident and was issued a citation for Fail to Control Speed.

 On Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 8:26 a.m. officers responded to an officer down involving a Tyler motorcycle officer who was struck from behind in the 2500 block of Callaway Road by a pick-up traveling west bound.

The motorcycle officer is identified as Jason Seeton, a 21 year veteran with the department and has been a motorcycle officer for 15 years.  Officer Seeton was transported to East Texas Medical Center with non-life threating injuries and is in stable condition. 

The driver of the pick-up is identified as Donald Blevins, age 75, of Arp Texas.  Accident investigators are still investigating the incident and no charges have been filed at this time.
