Texas Teen arrested in Iowa for Child Sexual Abuse

OTTUMWA, IA- On Wednesday, March 19, 2014, the Ottumwa Police Department became involved in an investigation involving the sexual assault of small child. 

As a result of the investigation, Ottumwa Police arrested Kraigen A. Grooms, age 17, of 515 S. Lillian, Ottumwa, with Sex Abuse in the 2nd Degree.  Sex Abuse in the 2nd Degree is a Class "B" Felony, punishable with up to 25 years imprisonment upon conviction. 

Due to the serious nature of the charges, Grooms is charged as an adult.  Grooms is currently in custody with a $100,000 cash only bond. 

 The United States Department of Homeland Security also participated in the investigation.
