UPDATE: Severe T-Storm Warning for Eastern Panola, Eastern Shelby, Eastern San Augustine & Sabine Counties, until 8:45. Again, 60+ mph Winds & Quarter Size Hail are the threats here. There is also ALOT of Lightning with this line.

Heads-Up San Augustine & Shelby Counties... This line will give you strong Wind, especially along the leading edge of it. Don't be surprised to see 50-60 mph as it moves in. Warnings continue. The Hail threat has decreased somewhat.


Well over 1,000 Oncor customers without power in and around the city of Tyler.

Cherokee County: Hwy 79 CLOSED at Gillespie Street, due to street flooding. Cars stuck in water


This "blanket" warning covers most of the real estate between Longview & Lufkin. Severe T-Storm Warning for Angelina, Nacogdoches, San Augustine, Shelby, SE Cherokee, S Panola, & SE Rusk Co's.

Until 7:45. 60+ mph Winds appear to be the greater threat, besides some quarter size Hail.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning 7:45 p.m. for Shelby County, Nacogdoches County, Panola County, Rusk County, San Augustine County and Angelina County.


Flash Flood Warning from  8:45 p.m. for Morris and Cass County.

In Harrison County, baseball sized hail is being reported in Waskom.

Thunderstorm Warning has been canceled for Hopkins County.


Traffic light at the intersection of Paluxy and Grande in Tyler. Police are directing traffic.

Quarter to Ping Pong Ball size Hail with the storm near Liberty City.

Severe thunderstorm warning has been extended for Panola County until 7:15 p.m.

Quarters & 60 mph Winds are possible with the storms over SE Rusk, Shelby, & Panola Counties


Swepco customers now have power

Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 7:15 p.m. for Shelby County

The Warning for Smith, Cherokee, & Nacogdoches Counties will mainly concern strong Straight line winds of close to 60 mph.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 6:45 p.m. for Houston County

Smith County is reporting 1/2 " hail along HWY 155, at Lake Palestine around 5:54 p.m.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 7 p.m. for Harrison County


Numerous power outages are reporting including: The French Quarter in Tyler and in the shopping center where Hastings is located on South Broadway in Tyler.

1200 Swepco Customers are out of power currently. 630 customers in Rusk County are out, 114 customers in Panola County and 456 customers in Franklin County are without power.

Power outages have been reported in Jacksonville, Tyler, Whitehouse areas. About 3,000 Oncor customers have been affected.

Tyler has 1100 Oncor power outages. City of Oakwood in Anderson Co. is comepletely out of power. Donnybrook and the Loop red light in Tyler is out.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 6:45 p.m. for Morris County

Smith County wind damage between HWY 155 and Grande in Tyler. Trees are reported to be down.

Flooding is reported at the Loop and Highway 64 in Tyler

44 mph winds in Smith County.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 6:30 p.m. for Shelby County

35 mph winds in Smith County

Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 6:30 p.m. for Anderson County

Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 6:15 p.m. for Panola County

Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 6 p.m. for Cass County


EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Upshur County until  6pm, Morris County until 5:30pm

Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued for Hopkins County until 5:45 p.m. Pea size hail reported in the Bettie Community in Upshur County.

Ping Pong Ball Size Hail & 60 mph Winds possible with this storm over West Central Henderson County, moving East at 30 mph. Severe T-Storm Warning for Henderson & Southeastern Van Zandt County until 5:30.

Severe T-Storm Warning remains in place until 5:00 pm for Northern Upshur, Eastern Camp, Southern Morris, & Southeastern Titus County. Quarter Size Hail & 60 mph Winds possible with this storm.

Titus County reporting quarter inch size hail.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for much of East Texas until 7:00 p.m. Friday.

CBS 19 Meteorologist Doc Deason reports latest radar update shows the developing line of Showers and strong T-Storms, generally just West of I-35. Hail continues to be the Main Threat. There are additional storms trying to fire out ahead of that line, which will need to be watched closely for rapid intensification.

From the National Weather Service: "primary threats include...numerous very large hail events to 3 inches in diameter likely.

Several damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely. A few tornadoes possible."

The National Weather Service in Shreveport advises showers and thunderstorms will continue to develop and track across portions of East Texas Friday afternoon.

Additional development is expected over the next few hours. Movement is to the Northeast.

Severe weather threats will be strong gusty winds
