Kids with military parents go on an Easter egg hunt

Posted: Updated:

TYLER (KYTX) - April is military kids appreciation month. With Easter a couple weeks away, the Armed Reserved Base sponsored an Easter egg hunt for children with parents serving in the armed forces.

Because of rainy weather, the number of participants dwindled and the hunt was brought indoors.
Even so, it didn't stop kids from snatching up as many plastic eggs as their hearts desired.

"It takes there minds off everything it just gives them that little inkling that there is someone else there in their same situation and they have comradery where they can share different things in their lives, they have the other kids to join with," said Latitia Doiron with the ARB.

Over 100 kids were originally expected to turn up for the hunt. All together 2,000 Easter eggs were spread through the building.
