Police searching for suspects that robbed Lufkin jewelry store

Posted: Updated:

LUFKIN (KYTX) - At approximately 2pm on April 17, 2014, the Lufkin Police Department received a call advising that four subjects were robbing Beard's Fine Jewelry.

A witness gave the license plate and description of the suspect vehicle.  Officers responded to the area and located the suspect vehicle abandoned in a nearby parking lot.

The vehicle had been reported stolen the day before from a local shopping center.  It is believed that the suspects may have gotten into a small, newer model, tan or beige suv; possibly a Ford Edge.

Detectives and other officers went to the store and made contact with the employees.  Detectives learned that four subjects wearing masks entered the store causing the employees to seek safety at the back of the business.

The suspects then began breaking the jewelry cases, taking an assortment of jewelry and leaving the store.  A total value of the stolen jewelry is not known at this time.  No one was injured during the incident.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact the Lufkin Police Department at (936)633-0356.

Anyone with information concerning this investigation can provide information anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers of Lufkin at (936) 639-TIPS or by submitting an anonymous tip at www.LufkinCrimeStoppers.com.

Crime Stoppers Tipsters never give their name and Crime Stoppers may pay a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest related to this incident.
