We live in the South, so some of us may have a Southern accent, but would you consider saying "goodbye" to "howdy, y'all"?
The Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee was going to offer a speech class for its workers next month to do just that, until it got canceled.

TYLER (KYTX) - Through out the winter weather, construction on the long list of TxDot road projects has been continuing. TxDot says, despite constant temperature changes, crews have been able to stay on schedule.
With the constant flow of spinning wheels against the road.

"Some of the roads are icky because some of the little potholes, then they turn bigger and bigger and bigger," said east Texas driver Alice Edam.
TxDot crews job never ends.
"I think they're doing a pretty good job," she said.
Being able to stay on top of the job has required persistence and being proactive about potential road issues.
"Water is every roadways worst enemy, water gets in cracks in the pavement and essentially wash away the base material and creates a weak spot on the surface," said TxDot spokesman Larry Krantz.
He said with the constant freeze and thaw cycles, east Texas roads have taken a beating..but the majority of the bruises have been kept at bay with crews laying hot mix and seal coats.
As for the actual road construction, Krantz says projects don't always immediately start with tearing up the road and replacing it.
"Drainage work, some dirt work, right away prep, utility location and relocation these are the kinds of things that are happening in the winter months so that we are ready to go as soon as the weather warms up."
Now that it has warmed up drivers will see a lot more surface progress.
"We're seeing a lot of construction projects come out of hibernation."
The re-pavement project on FM 14 is nearly complete. The expansion project of FM 154 in Wood county is picking back up so is the major expansion  happening at loop 323 and state highway 31.
All together, there are about a dozen projects TxDot will be working on in the upcoming months and years.Txdot says although you may not be able to see just how much work has been done under the surface, work is happening.
