Schools are looking to hire more teachers.

Every seat filled and teachers stretching time to get to every raised hand.  It's become a common sight in Texas schools, as enrollment continues to skyrocket.  Longview ISD held a job fair, today, to help fill nearly 40 vacancies.  Applicant Michelle Clark believes she has an edge on others applying.
"I have 13 years of experience and I also am able to motivate those who may not be motivated otherwise." - Michelle Clark
She along with more than a hundred more are applying for jobs with Longview ISD and will be hired, today,  on the spot.  For the next 10 years, Texas Workforce Commission estimates that teaching will be the 2nd fastest growing occupation in Texas.  LISD's Director of Human Resources Loretta Martin says those with
education degrees and proper certifications are almost guaranteed a job.
"In this job, it effects everyone in Texas. No matter what you do in life every child's foundation is teaching."
She says those certified in critical shortage areas - science, math, special education, and foreign languages - have an even better shot. Schools are digging deep to
find these teachers.
"We want the best possible teachers for our students. And this is a way for them to come see Longview, and to see what we have to offer."
Clark says teaching is much more than getting children to learn.
"Teaching itself isn't difficult at all. It's looking for the genius inside every student and everyone has their own
gift."
Gifts she hopes she gets the opportunity to find.
