Infant Flown to Dallas After Sustaining Head Injury

TYLER (KYTX) – Thursday, April 24, 2014, at approximately 4:30 pm Smith County deputies along with ETMC paramedics and members of the Jacksonville VFD were dispatched to a residence in the 16000 block of FM 2767 in reference to an unresponsive 6 month old infant.

The child was transported by ambulance to Trinity Mother Francis hospital in Tyler, and was then flown to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas to receive treatment.

Deputies were told by family members that the child fell from a bed and received an injury to the head. The case is currently being investigated by the Smith County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division.

The investigation is ongoing, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
