GREGG COUNTY (KYTX)- Two Fort Worth men are behind bars tonight after a weekend burglary and car chase in Gregg County.

Thirty-four-year-old Alex Latrell Fowler and 36-year-old Stacy Len Harris are in the Gregg County Jail - Fowler on $15,000 bond for burglary and evading arrest in a vehicle, and Harris without bond for burglary.

Officer Kristie Brian with Longview police says officers responded to a commercial burglary call at the Money Stop convenience store on West Nelson Street at High Street moments before 4 Saturday morning.

Burglars broke a lock to the store and took a safe, but surveillance footage showed a description of the getaway vehicle, which officers found on Green Street in Longview.

Brian says officers chased the vehicle to Estes Parkway and onto Interstate 20 with help from Gregg County Sheriff's deputies until the suspects finally stopped and were arrested at 4:11 Saturday morning on I-20 at Powderhorn Road in Kilgore.

According to records online, Harris was arrested in Tarrant County on March 24 for misdemeanor theft. Fowler has a previous arrest in Tarrant County for drug manufacturing and distribution.
