Police: Woman Posted To Facebook Before Deadly Crash

HIGH POINT, N.C. (WFMY NEWS 2)– High Point police say the Clemmons woman who died Thursday in a wreck on Business 85 was posting to Facebook moments before the crash.

Drivers reported the accident at 8:34 a.m., and police say 32-year-old Courtney Sanford's last Facebook post was at 8:33 a.m.

A High Point police officer told WFMY News 2 that Sanford posted several selfies. Investigators say her last Facebook post referenced a popular new song, "Happy".

Police say Sanford was driving north on Business 85, near Baker Road, when she drove across the median and hit a large commercial truck. The impact caused the truck to go off the road and hit a tree. The truck driver was not hurt.

Police estimate Sanford was driving about 45 mph when she hit the truck.

Investigators have ruled out drugs or alcohol, but are waiting for test results to confirm her system was clean.
