Allegations of misconduct against two Longview Police officers under investigation

LONGVIEW (KYTX) - One Longview police officer has resigned amid allegations of sexual misconduct, and another officer has been placed on leave following alleged violations of four police department codes.

According to Longview Police Chief Don Dingler, patrol officer Adam Vanover resigned amid allegations of engaging in sexual conduct.
It was alleged that officer Vanover received, opened, and or downloaded sexually explicit material while on duty. It was further alleged that officer Vanover engaged in sexual conduct while on duty.

Officer Vanover resigned from the police department April 25, 2014.

In another incident, Lt. Ronald Buckner is being investigated for allegedly violating police procedures which states no officer shall engage in conduct that would adversely affect the moral of the department, truthful at all times , and more specifically making a person aware of an ongoing investigation.

Lt. Buckner remains under investigation and is currently on leave.
