Nacogdoches man struck and killed by lightning

Posted: Updated:
NACOGDOCHES COUNTY (KYTX) - Lightning is believed to have killed a 60-year-old Nacogdoches County man at his home Friday morning.  Sheriff's deputies found Hank Wiederhold laying near a tree his backyard on Shoreline Drive around 11:30. It was apparent the tree had been struck by lightning and Wiederhold was found to have a burn mark on his stomach.

The family says memorials can be made to Wiederhold's favorite charities.  Those are Dr. Bill Shelton's Totally Awesome Fishing Adventure for Kids.  He was an avid fisherman.  People can also donate to the Texas Aggie Scholarship Fund.  Wiederhold graduated in the A&M class of 1976.  Click the Hot Button for more details on how to donate.
