LONGVIEW (KYTX) - The Longview Police Department held a dedication ceremony Monday at the site of a new memorial donated by the Longview Police Officer's Association.

The memorial was placed on the front lawn of the Longview Police Department, and honors those officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

A special "Thank You" to Gregg County Sheriff Maxey Cerliano and the Gregg County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard for their participation and performance of the 21 Gun Salute.

LPD's Honor Guard also played a role in today's ceremony as well.

Officer Jeremy Higginbotham played Taps and did a great job as always.
