Three suspected gang members arrested in Nacogdcoches Co. drive-by shooting

NACOGDOCHES (KYTX) - The Nacogdoches County Sheriff Office has arrested three people in connection with a drive by shooting that occurred in April on County Rd. 521.

On April 12, 2014 Deputies were dispatched to the area of Cr. 521 where a vehicle was shot at while driving down the roadway. The shooting also occurred in front of several residences where children were playing outside.

Sheriff Investigators have arrested 22-year-old Nathan Hernandez, 18-year-old David Ortiz , and 20-year-old Cesar Padilla all from Nacogdoches have been taken into custody.

All three men have been charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity a 2nd felony. Additional charges were also placed on Hernandez after deputies discovered 16 year old runaway from Montgomery County being hidden at his residence.

The Sheriff Office has investigating this case as an ongoing gang related shooting as all suspects in the case have been identified as known gang members.
