K-9 Memorialized in Hallsville

Posted: Updated:
HALLSVILLE (KYTX) - The Hallsville Police Department and people from around East Texas gathered around the grave of a fallen member of the Police force.

Dingo, a drug dog of Hallsville P.D.  was put to rest and had a funereal ceremony, today. The dog had been a part of Hallsville P.D. for over a year, but recently got sick and had to be put down.   Bag pipes, tears, and the remaining Hallsville K-9 Officers all paid tribute to Dingo. Hallsville Police Chief Paul Montoya says this ceremony mirrored those of fallen human officers.

"The K9's aren't just dogs or another pet, they are another officer of the department. These dogs do amazing things to protect the officers and citizens." Chief Paul Montoya

A donation fund has been set up at Hallsville City Hall to help buy a headstone for Dingo's grave.
