We live in the South, so some of us may have a Southern accent, but would you consider saying "goodbye" to "howdy, y'all"?
The Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee was going to offer a speech class for its workers next month to do just that, until it got canceled.

NORTH TEXAS (CBS 11 NEWS) – For the second day in a row General Motors is recalling vehicles because of safety concerns. The latest recall includes 218,000 Chevy Aveo’s.

GM says the vehicles can catch on fire due to a faulty part in the vehicles headlights.

Tuesday GM recalled nearly 2.5 million vehicles. Justlast week recalls for some 3 million vehicles were issued.

“This recall will be quickly handled,” says Carey Williams, with James Wood Motors in Decatur “As soon as we have a fix we’ll get them fixed and they’ll be for sale.”

Williams knows recalls. He’s certainly been dealing with enough of them recently.

“Anytime you have a recall no matter who you are it’s not going to be a positive thing you are not going to be happy to hear about it, but lets face it it’s a part of life,” says Williams who is the Executive Manager at James Wood Motors.

Williams says his dealership is still waiting oninformation about the Chevy Aveo recall. Meanwhile, workers there are still trying to understand the recall from two days ago, which involves seat belt problems in the 2009 to 2014 Enclave, Traverse and Acadia. The dealership has even stopped selling the vehicles until there’s a fix.

“The last thing you would want to do if there’s evidence out there that there might be a recall due to a safety concern we want to take care of that before thecustomer gets in the vehicle,” says Williams “Recalls are with every manufacture lets face that it’s going to happen it’s happened in the past and it’s going to happen in the future.

This will be the 29th recall for GM just this year, which affects 13.8 million vehicles.

Long time customer’s way they worry but it’s not something driving them away.

“When you are driving down the road you have to think I hope everything is ok,” says GM driver John Plaster, “I think most of it probably knee jerk reaction I doubt that it’s quite as bad as it sounds,” says John Plaster.

If you are unsure whether your car is being recalled you can give a GM dealer your vehicle identification number, or VIN, and they can access files for your vehicle. You can find your car VIN on your insurance card.
