Fort Hood Re-Opened

Posted: Updated:
UPDATE: FORT HOOD (KYTX)- Fort Hood has resumed normal traffic flow through all installation access control points.

Officials on Fort Hood initiated a prudent security measure based on a telephone call received here.

After a preliminary investigation, Fort Hood officials decided to re-open the installation.

"We take force protection very seriously on Fort Hood, and will take prudent measures when necessary," said Col Christopher Garver, III Corps Public Affairs Officer.

(KCEN) -- Fort Hood is being shut down due to an investigation.

Officials say that nobody is allowed onto Fort Hood but people are allowed to leave.

There are unconfirmed reports of bones being found near Kouma Village. A forensic team has been brought in to figure out if they are human bones.

III Corps and Fort Hood have released this statement:

"Precautionary security measures enacted. Effective immediately, all inbound traffic into Fort Hood has been blocked at all access control points due to a potential force protection issue. All outbound traffic is flowing normally."
