More charges filed against Nacogdoches man in child sex case

NACOGDOCHES (KYTX) - Nacogdoches County Sheriff Investigators have filed four more charges on a Nacogdoches man after he was arrested on Monday 05-19-2014. The Nacogdoches County Sheriff Office received a complainant of an indecency with a child case after an outcry was made from the victim. The Sheriff Office conducted an investigation and found probable cause existed for the arrest of Harvey Joe Puntch.

Puntch was arrested on the original charge and transported to the Nacogdoches County Jail. Sheriff Investigators conducted interviews on several different days with the suspect. Sheriff Investigators obtained confessions from Puntch during the interview. Sheriff Investigators also obtained additional information of more crimes that had occurred to the victim.

In cooperation with the Harolds House, a forensic interview was conducted with the victim. The interview helped investigators learn several more details about the investigation.

On Thursday evening Sheriff Investigators obtained four more warrants for Puntch arrest for the offense of Aggravated Sexual Assault with a Child a 1st felony. The warrants were served on Puntch at the Nacogdoches County Jail.

Harvey Joe Puntch 52 years of age, bond was set at $75,000 dollars on the original charge of Indecency with a child. He has yet to be arraigned on the four additional charges. The victim was between 10 and 12 years old when the crimes occurred.
