Dr. Ben Carson visits Tyler

Posted: Updated:

TYLER (KYTX)- Dr. Ben Carson stopped in Tyler earlier this morning as part of his national book tour.

Fans waited outside Sam's Club to have books signed by neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson.

Carson's book, One Nation, discusses Carson's view of the country's political system.

Supporters urged Dr. Carson to run for President.

They chanted Run Ben Run as he walked off the tour bus.

When asked, Carson said a run for the presidency is not out of the question.

"It's not something I would desire to do because it looks like everyone who goes in that office be it 4 years or 8 years looks like they've been there for 20 years but I do recognize that we're in trouble and I will keep my eyes and ears open," says Carson.

Dr. Carson took a picture with everyone who came to the book signing today.

He concludes his book tour in Houston on Sunday.
