Before you know it, fall will be here and it will be time to go back to school.  For parents that means stocking up on notebooks, number two pencils, and back to school clothes, all of which usually take a big chunk out of a family's budget.  So, just how much do parents will pay to send their kids off to school this year?More >>

BOWIE COUNTY (KYTX) - Two people are in custody after they were arrested in connection with an aggravated robbery and burglary in Bowie County May 26, 2014.

Ruszell Traylor and Jackie Watson are accused of the break-in at a home located on FM 990 in the Simms community.

According to the Bowie County Sheriff's office, Traylor and Watson assaulted the homeowner with a firearm, and then stealing the victim's car.

When deputies arrived they found Keitha Parker holding a towel to a wound on her head that was bleeding. Mrs. Parker told deputies she had come to check on her vacant house at this location. When she pulled up there was a white female standing next to a silver sports utility vehicle in her driveway. This white female asked Mrs. Parker if her house was for rent. Mrs. Parker told the white female it was not for rent, and as she was doing so heard a noise coming from inside her house.

Mrs. Parker went inside to see what was going on, and observed a black male carrying a handgun exiting  the house through the back door. She immediately closed and locked the door. At the same time the black male started kicking on the back door and eventually got it open. The door hit Mrs. Parker causing her to fall backwards onto the floor.

The male suspect approached Mrs. Parker, hit her in the head several times with his firearm, and took her car keys. He then left the area in Mrs. Parker’s car. A short time later, Mrs. Parker’s vehicle was found abandoned on the side of the roadway on Farm to Market 561 after a witness saw a silver sports utility vehicle described as possibly being a Toyota turn around and stop next to it.

It is believed this was the white female suspect picking up the black male suspect as he was getting rid of the stolen vehicle.

Mrs. Parker was taken to Wadley Hospital by Life Net ambulance where she was treated for her injuries.

On 06-06-14 a Texarkana Arkansas Police Department Investigator provided information to the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office that a white female named Jackie Watson may have information about burglaries on the West end of Bowie County.

Watson was known to be associating with a black male named Ruszell Traylor. Investigator Will Buttram and the TAPD Investigator interviewed Traylor who was in Arkansas custody on unrelated charges.

Traylor confessed to committing this robbery as well as another burglary in the Simms area.

According to Traylor, Watson was with him when he committed both of these crimes. Investigators located Watson later the same day and she was arrested by a Texarkana Texas Police Department Investigator for Possession of a Controlled Substance.

When interviewed, she too confessed to committing these crimes. Investigator Robby McCarver, to whom these cases were assigned, sought arrest warrants for aggravated robbery and burglary of a habitation for both Traylor and Watson.

Judge Nancy Talley issued warrants for both suspects. Watson was arrested for her warrants, and Judge Talley set her bond at $100,000.00 for each charge. Traylor remains in Arkansas custody and will be arrested for his warrants when he has satisfied his pending charges there.
