Water, territorial agreement reached between Gregg County local governments

KILGORE (KYTX) - A deal being reached by several local governments in Gregg County could mean plentiful treated water for some East Texas businesses, while giving some East Texans their wish.

The deal between the cities of Kilgore and Longview, Gregg County and Liberty City water supply would allow Kilgore to sell treated water to businesses in the River Bend Industrial Business Park.
Terms also include a new territorial agreement between Kilgore and Longview.

Because of that, City Manager Scott Sellers says Kilgore can de-annex the Fredonia community by the end of this summer.
People in Fredonia, who were added into Kilgore's city boundaries in December 2011, say they're happy about leaving the city.
