TMB suspends Grand Prairie physician and Falfurrias physician

Updated:

AUSTIN (TEXAS MEDICAL BOARD)- On June 12, a disciplinary panel of the Texas Medical Board temporarily suspended, without notice, the Texas medical license of Oscar De Leon, M.D., after determining his continuation in the practice of medicine would constitute a continuing threat to the public welfare. The suspension was effective immediately.

The Board panel found Dr. De Leon, a Grand Prairie physician, on May 29, was arrested by the City of Dallas Police Department pursuant to allegations of violations of Texas Penal Code Section 21.11, Indecency with a Child, a second degree felony offense.

The panel found based on his arrest, Dr. De Leon is a continuing threat and a real danger to the health of his patients or to the public.

A temporary suspension hearing with notice will be held as soon as practicable with 10 days' notice to Dr. De Leon, unless the hearing is specifically waived by Dr. De Leon. The temporary suspension remains in place until the Board takes further action.
