TxDOT to finish work on South Loop 323 Monday

Updated:

TYLER (KYTX) – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews on Monday are scheduled to complete road construction work on South Loop 323 between Broadway Avenue and Paluxy Drive.

Crews are scheduled to work eastbound on South Loop 323 between the hours of 8 a.m.-7 p.m., or until the work is complete.

“We’ve gotten tremendous cooperation from motorists as we’ve worked on the South Loop over the past week,” said TxDOT spokesman Larry Krantz. “Choosing an alternate route greatly reduced the amount of traffic going past the work zone, and that in turn not only helped keep our workers safe, but helped us keep the job moving forward in spite of the weather. We need one more day to finish our work out there, and we’re hoping Tylerites can work with us for one more day.”

Eastbound traffic will be reduced to one lane while the work is in progress, and motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes if possible to avoid delays.

Once that work is complete, crews are scheduled to make similar repairs on FM 346 between US 69 in Flint and FM 756 toward Whitehouse.

Meanwhile, night work scheduled to begin on Broadway Avenue between South Loop 323 and Fourth Street has been delayed until the end of the month while the contractor finishes similar work on SH 110 between South Loop 323 in Tyler and Toll 49 near Whitehouse.
