Return of Capital Murder suspect from Mexico

Updated:
HARRISON COUNTY (KYTX)- Harrison County investigators have met with the US Marshall’s Office in Dallas and returned Jose Casiano-Aburto from Mexico.

Casiano-Aburto fled to Mexico after he was named a suspect in the death of 2 year old Yeli Madalyn Jimenez.

The alleged suspect is an illegal alien and fled to Central Mexico on approximately February 16, 2012 after the death of Jimenez.

Efforts to return him for investigation and trial were begun with the US Department of State, US Marshall’s Office, US Homeland Security, and the Mexican Government.

He was arrested in Mexico and held for extradition back to the United States and Harrison County.

An agreement was made not to include the death penalty in the trial for the child’s death and this cleared the way for his return.

A date for the trial will be scheduled for the death of the child by the District Attorney’s office.

He is being held in the Harrison County Jail and bond has been set at $1,000,000.
