Suspect in Police Chief shooting is a former East Texas law officer

(KCEN) -- The suspect in the Little River-Academy Police Chief shooting has a history in law enforcement.

Police records show that David Risner was a former officer in Van Zandt County, Texas.

The records show that he was a police officer for 17 years, and also served as a jailer for almost a year and a half. It lists four different police departments as well as the Van Zandt Sheriff's Department.
