Hamilton County Man Shot, Killed in Shootout with Police

A man is dead after a three minute shootout with officers in Hamilton County.

It happened at a business called ‘The Book Train’ at 2230 South Highway 281.

The gunman came into the store, and pointed a gun at a victim, who is believed to be his ex-wife.

The gun malfunctioned and did not shoot.

After a short chase with the gunman, police stopped his car, and after being threatened by the gunman, police fired shots, killing the gunman.

DPS and Texas Rangers are investigating.
