Baby left at Kilgore Fire Department in custody of CPS

LONGVIEW (KYTX) - According to Texas Child Protective Services, a newborn baby was left at the Kilgore Fire Department  Saturday morning. 

According to Shari Pulliam with Texas CPS, the baby was found at Kilgore Central Fire Department and taken to the Emergency room before being put into custody of CPS.

The act is called the Baby Moses Law, where a baby under 60 days old can be dropped off in designated safe haven zones.
