Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- A California man wanted for attempted murder was arrested in Bell County on Monday.

On Monday night, U.S. Marshals arrested 35-year-old Shane Michael Davis in Killeen.

In May, Davis was involved in an altercation in Riverside County, California where he allegedly shot the victim twice.

Police found information that he was staying in the Killeen area. They then contacted the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force for assistance.

U.S. Marshals found Davis in the 3200 block of Hereford and arrested him.

During a search, officials found a handgun on him.

Davis was transported to the Bell County Jail where he will await extradition to California. Davis may also be facing additional charges in Texas.
