Escaped murderer still at large

Posted: Updated:

PINE BLUFF, Ark. (KTBS) - The hunt for a convicted killer continues in Arkansas.

Authorities are warning citizens that he's considered armed and dangerous.

Timothy Buffington has been on the run, since Saturday when he escaped from a state prison in Pine Bluff.

Dogs have been searching in Grant County where a man reported seeing the runaway convict on Tuesday.

Buffington is serving time for the murder of his ex wife. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison, but up until last week, officials said he was a model prisoner.

Authorities believe buffington is armed with a shotgun and a bag of ammo.

They say he broke into a house near the prison and held a woman hostage, but she was able to escape.

Police are searching exclusively in the Pine Bluff area because they believe Buffington may have ties there.
