EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - Good Friday morning!
Morning low clouds are blanketing East Texas once again with spotty showers lingering across Deep East Texas this morning. The core of the upper level system that has been bringing us much needed rain/thunderstorms over the last several days is now shifting east into the lower Mississippi Valley. As a result, only a 20-30% chance of scattered afternoon/evening thunderstorms today with highs in the upper 80's. As we head into the weekend, an area of high pressure will build back across East Texas squelching rain chances. Only isolated afternoon/evening thunderstorms both Saturday and Sunday.
There is a slight chance of overnight thunderstorms moving in from the northwest late Saturday night/early Sunday morning. Otherwise, hot this weekend with highs in the lower 90's. Mostly sunny Monday through Thursday next week. Highs between 92-94. Isolated t-storms will be possible by next Friday, July 4th.
Have a great weekend!
