Health Alert: Age Does Not Affect Fertility

Posted: Updated:

(CBS) - The age of a man does not affect fertility. That's according to a new British study that looked at births after fertility treatments. Researchers found sperm samples from men ages 40-45 were just as effective as those of younger men. The study's author says their findings reaffirm that fertility appears more dependent on a woman's age.

(CBS) - Seeing family and friends can help children who are hospitalized. Doctors at UC Davis Children's Hospital set up video conferences for young patients and their friends and family. They found stress levels were lower for children who could visually communicate with loved ones.

(CBS) - The American Academy of Pediatrics reports children with ADHD are more likely to develop substance abuse problems. Many children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder are treated with stimulant medication which researchers say has the potential for misuse and addiction. They also point out, children with ADHD are often approached to sell, buy or trade medications. The report suggests these children need more monitoring and guidance.
