We live in the South, so some of us may have a Southern accent, but would you consider saying "goodbye" to "howdy, y'all"?
The Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee was going to offer a speech class for its workers next month to do just that, until it got canceled.

(KCEN) -- A Cameron man is in custody after he crashed into a house while fleeing from police.

Cameron police responded to a call about someone driving erratically in eastern neighborhoods of Cameron.

When police arrived in the area they clocked a tan colored vehicle driving 17 miles over the 30 mile speed limit.

Officers pursued and attempted to stop the vehicle. That's when the vehicle accelerated and tried to elude officers.

The vehicle failed to make a T intersection at 6th St. while traveling southbound on Jackson Ave. That's where it crashed into a home at 601 E. 6th.

Officers were unable to locate the driver of the vehicle when they searched the crash site. Then they heard gun shots and breaking glass when they began searching the home for the driver and possible victims.

Police called for assistance from the Texas DPS and Milam County Sheriff's Dept. And the Cameron Police entry team was called to make a forced entry into the home.

The team was unable to locate the suspect and determined they had fled the area. DNA was collected from the airbag of the vehicle. After a thorough investigation the suspect was identified as Travis John Pena of Cameron.

Pena was charged with evading arrest or apprehension with other charges possibly pending.

He was arrested by the Cameron Police Dept. around 7 a.m. on Monday.

He's currently in the Milam County Jail awaiting an initial court appearance.

Meanwhile the home suffered an estimated $20,000 in damages. The family is currently displaced from that home.
