UPDATE: 12-year-old Boy Who Died at Local Wakeboard Park Identified

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- A 12-year-old boy who died at the BSR Cable Park has been identified.

Sirmuel Calhoun went missing around 5 p.m Saturday night . His body was found a couple of hours later.

Calhoun and his family were visiting from Dallas.

His body was found in what's called the "Fun Lake."

It's a small, fairly shallow pond with a slide and water trampoline separate from the cable area.

The rest of the park is now open, but that area remains closed.

BSR will be hosting a fundraiser to help the family of the victim. The event is scheduled for the 4th of July.

There will be a Bar-B-Q and a bake sell. It starts at 12 p.m. and will end with firework display at 10:30 p.m.

The Brett Hendrix Band will also be playing.

The park is asking any volunteers or other bands that would like to play to contact them.

All proceeds go to the family.
