Car, trash truck collide sending three people to the hospital

Longview Police were dispatched to a Jaws Call in the area of Wilellen Street and Alpine Road. When Officers arrived they found two sanitation workers had been struck by a 2007 Toyota Corolla driven by 46 year-old Susan Skinner of Longview.

Police learned the two sanitation workers involved were behind the sanitation truck driven by 20 year-old Laronn Woolridge, in the outside Eastbound lane of Alpine Road. Both victims were standing behind the truck when they were struck by Skinner's vehicle, which was also traveling East on Alpine Road. One victim, identified as Darron Craig 46, of Longview, was thrown a few feet from the truck. The second victim, identified as Dennis Montgomery 33, of Longview, was trapped between the back of the sanitation truck and the front of the Corolla.

Longview Fire Department used air bags and the Jaws of Life to remove the victim. Both men were transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Skinner was transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries. The investigation into the cause of this accident continues and intoxication is believed to be a factor.
