EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - Good morning and happy July 1st!
A July cold front is triggering scattered showers and thunderstorms in the panhandle this morning sagging slowly in our general direction. The front is expected to reach the I-20 corridor of North Texas Wed with clouds increasing along/ahead of it.
Scattered showers and t-storms will be possible here in East Texas Wednesday night and into the day on Thursday as the front stalls out overhead. Temperatures today will be hot, topping out near 92. Highs Wednesday should reach the lower 90’s as well. With the cloud cover and scattered thunderstorms Thursday, expect temps to be slightly cooler - especially to the north of the front. Upper 80’s across the I-30 corridor, with temperatures hovering near 90 if not slightly cooler for the Tyler-Longview-Marshall areas on Thursday afternoon. 20% chance of spotty showers and thunderstorms Friday as the front lifts back to the north on Independence Day. Highs Friday near 89.
Have a great July 1st!
