UPDATE: Tyler Police: Driver Held at Gun Point after Reported Road Rage

Posted: Updated:

UPDATE: TYLER (KYTX)- Tyler Police tells CBS 19 that it was a reported case of road rage that prompted officers to draw their guns on a driver of a vehicle stopped at Troup HWY and Loop 323.

After a search of the vehicle, no weapons were found.

No warnings, citations or arrests were issued.

TYLER (KYTX) - A man is in custody after Tyler police stopped him with their guns drawn near the intersection of Troup and Loop 323 just before 5:00 Tuesday afternoon. The man was stopped on suspicion of having a gun or guns.

The suspect was told to pull over. When the man exited the silver car, police told him to raise his hands and to slowly walk backward then get on his knees. Soon after another police car pulled up, those officers then walked up to the suspect and put him in handcuffs. Other officers then walked to check the suspects vehicle.

it's not clear if this man had any connection to a list of robberies in the Tyler area as of yet. WE are working with police to gather more information.
